Overview of Chronic Inflammatory Conditions

Many chronic inflammatory conditions are a result of a constant imbalance of initiation and resolution of inflammation. This leads to chronic, low-level inflammation that is below the perception of pain. This is cellular inflammation. Since there is no pain associated with cellular inflammation, nothing is done to rectify this inflammatory imbalance. Eventually, there will be enough long-term organ damage that we call it chronic disease of that organ, but in reality it was due to unresolved inflammation.
