Americans Are Eating Too Much Bacon and Too Few Nuts: Study 

CHICAGO - Gorging on bacon, skimping on nuts? These are among food habits that new research links with deaths from heart disease, strokes and diabetes. Overeating or not eating enough of the 10 foods and nutrients contributes to nearly half of U.S. deaths from these causes, the study suggests.

Of course they are since people love “alternative truth” when it comes to fatty foods. The most recent data suggests that the fruit and vegetable intake should be increased to 10 servings per day as opposed to the 5 recommended in the article. It was estimated such an increased level of fruits and vegetables would lead to a 31% decrease in all-cause mortality.
