Body mass may not be good way to predict heart disease in minorities

(Reuters Health) - Even though obesity can indicate a risk for heart disease and diabetes in white people, it may not be as reliable for predicting these risks in other racial and ethnic groups, a U.S. study suggests.

Measuring per cent body fat is a better predictor of heart disease than BMI, However, the best predictor remains the lowering of the AA/EPA ratio in the blood.
