The answer is a resounding yes. You need some fat, but the correct  balance of omega-6 to omega-3 as well as reducing palmitic acid  is critical. Consuming 40-50 grams per day is all that a normal individual  requires assuming he or she is getting adequate  protein with only a slight  excess of low glycemic load carbs.
