Carbs more harmful than saturated fats: study

Long-derided saturated fats -- associated with an array of health problems such as heart disease -- caught a break Friday when research revealed their intake could be doubled or even nearly tripled without driving up their level in a person's blood.

The absolute changes in palmoleic acid in that study was very small.  Other research by Harvard has indicated that increased palmoleic acid has several beneficial effects.  Bottom line, both high carbs and high saturated fats have little place in healthy diet.  Excess carbs increase insulin secretion and excess saturated fats increase inflammation, especially in the hypothalamus that ultimately controls hunger.
