There are more than 50 polyphenols in red wine, and more than 8,000 known polyphenols. Just because resveratrol has the highest concentration in red wine doesn’t mean it is the most important. In fact, a minor polyphenol (delphinidins) in red wine has been shown to be more powerful than resveratrol in reducing inflammation. It’s the reduction in inflammation that reduces deaths, heart disease, and cancer.
