This is a major problem for the future for fish farming as the feed determines the composition of the farmed fish.  Salmon require omega-3 fatty acids for growth. Feeding them crude fish oil is the cheapest solution, but the crude fish oil is rich in toxins such as PCBs.  The best way to get omega-3 fatty acids is refine from crude fish oil, and simply bypass the fish farming all together.
