FDA Boosts Its Heart-Attack Warning On NSAIDs, Sows Confusion

If you're one of the 29 million Americans who regularly take ibuprofen, naproxen or similar drugs for pain, you may be scratching your head a bit over the latest word out of the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA has strengthened its words of caution for people who use these nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs, but in a way that may be confusing.

The primary reason that NSAIDs have a heart-attack warning is because they inhibit the resolution phase of inflammation.
