Most yoga practitioners adhere to the sattvik diet in which, according to Ayurveda, the foods prescribed lead to clarity of mind while benefitting the body. "To amplify one's yoga practice, one's diet should be very clean," says yogini Deepika Mehta, "Because various asanas require you to twist, stretch and lift, one needs to have a light and clean body."
