I will have a more complete blog on this next week, but what they consider a “high” dose is essentially “just beyond a placebo” dose.  The reduction in the scarring of the heart was due to increased resolvin formation that requires high levels of omega-3 fatty acids in the blood.  This is why lower dose studies were inconclusive because they were using placebo doses.

    have been taking 3.6 grams of spring valley fish oil for 9 years…(meg-3)…becuz family genentics, recently had heart attack and 2 stents placed in left descending arteries….now on plavex, lose dose aspirin…with blood bruises on arms and hard to stop minor bleeding….i would like to start on fish oil again but am worrrled that high dose fish oil would thin blood too much…can you help? thanks tom behan
