I definitely agree on the omega-3, but where there is smoke, there may be fire.  The problem with nutritional supplements is whether or not a therapeutic dose is being given.  This is especially true with omega-3 fatty acids.  A therapeutic dose is one that reduces the AA/EPA ratio to between 1.5 and 3.  For most Americans that is about 20 times the average intake.
