Gut bacteria influences inflammation via metabolic endotoxemia as explained in my most recent article in Lipids Health and Disease.  The best way to reduce endotoxemia is to reduce the intake of saturated fats, increase omega-3 fats and eat lots of colorful, non-starchy vegetables to provide fiber as an energy source for the gut bacteria so that it doesn’t consume the mucus layer for food.
