Is fast food making you sick and tired? The Daily Meal

It isn't exactly breaking news that fast food is bad for you. Even the most ardent hater of Brussels sprouts and broccoli can't argue that a bacon cheeseburger and order of large fries washed down with an extra-large, collectable plastic cup filled with high-fructose corn syrup seems like a healthy meal.

It’s not simply simple carbs that make you tired, but high-glycemic carbs (like grains and starches) because they enter the blood stream as glucose even faster than table sugar to increase insulin that drives down blood-sugar levels.  It is the hypoglycemia that makes you tired.  If you add extra omega-6 fats to those high-glycemic carbohydrates to increase inflammation, then you also get sick.
