This is a surprisingly good article for the general public on the importance of omega-3 fatty acids.  That’s why my minimum recommended intake is 2.5 grams of EPA and DHA per day.  That’s 10 times more than the government recommendation and 20 times more than the average daily intake for Americans.  For comparison, however, that 2.5 grams is the same amount that your great grandparents gave your grandparents when they had to consume a tablespoon of cod liver oil every day.
