Medical Schools Need To Teach More About Obesity And Nutrition

If you have been living in a cave and don't read the news, we are in the midst of a global obesity epidemic. Also, obesity can lead to so many different diseases, ranging from diabetes to cardiovascular disease to cancer to many mental health issues.

This lack of nutrition knowledge will begin to change. That is, once physicians are forced to get compensated on a “pay for performance” system that rewards them for keeping certain blood tests in healthy ranges. These would be (1) the AA/EPA ratio, (2) TG/HDL ratio, and (3) HbA1c. ¬†Change the financial incentives and the physicians will learn about nutrition very quickly.
