Dr. Sears Comments:

Dr. Barry Sears
The PBS special was pretty weak, although the prognosis for the future of medicine is pretty correct.  Although 99% of all proposed Alzheimer’s drugs fail to have any benefit in clinical trials, it is known than Alzheimer’s is a neuroinflammatory disease.  That’s why it is odd the program didn’t mention that in 2001 it was reported that Alzheimer’s patients have double the AA/EPA ratio as age-matched normal controls.  It seems that reducing the AA/EPA ratio is pretty simple first step to save the future.
