My headline is cute, but perhaps a bit abstruse, so I will hasten to explain it. This column is about the relative contributions of calories in (e.g., sips), calories out (e.g., flips) and genes (e.g., snips or ' single nucleotide polymorphisms ') to weight. Each has been in the news of late.
