One Candidate Brings Obesity Bias Into The Debate

As a citizen of this country, there are a lot of things I would like to say about last night's presidential debate, beginning with the fact that I prefer my presidents coherent. But my wheelhouse is public health, not politics, so I will stifle that impulse and move on.

I wish obesity was as simple as described in this article.  It is a consequence of a very complex interactions between the brain, blood, and the gut. Sugar-based cereals are an easy target, but then so is white bread, white rice, and white potatoes.  Their impact is dramatically enhanced in the presence of fat as I will describe in my next book, Understanding the Zone.
