One-third of the world is now obese or overweight, but US adults aren’t faring worst

Peter Dazeley | Getty Images More than 2 billion people, accounting for one third of the world's population, are now overweight or obese a study has revealed. In 2015 12 percent of adults and 5 percent of children globally were categorized as obese, according to the research published Monday in the New England Journal of Medicine.

I would be more concerned about the U.S. being #1 in childhood obesity as that will ultimately be a bigger drain on health care resources in the future.
