Is It Possible to Outrun Depression?

Maybe from the couch you can see your front door. Beyond it, there's perhaps some vague sense of possibility. But it seems like more miles stand between you and getting out the door than you could possibly ever run if you do. It can be difficult for anyone to find the motivation to exercise.

A far better starting approach to get the depressed patient more willing to exercise and practice meditation is supplementation with high-dose EPA and DHA (5-10 grams per day).  That will reduce neuroinflammation in the brain as well as promote increased serotonin production.  When both those events occur, the desire to exercise and practice stress reduction is greatly enhanced.
