Study finds lower rates of heart disease and strokes where trans fats are banned  

The elimination of trans fats in certain counties in New York state led to a comparable decline of cardiovascular events, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Cardiology on Wednesday.

One of the overlooked aspects of trans fatty acids is their effect on gut permeability.  By inducing a leaky gut, this allows microbial fragments to enter into the blood  and generate inflammatory responses in the blood that will directly impact the heart  cells.
