The beginning of the end? The race for a Parkinson’s cure

Dad told me he had Parkinson's disease over broccoli and beef at the Chinese restaurant in Lincoln, Neb. He was 45. I was a senior in college. He operated a retirement home in Omaha, so he had seen the disease.

As sad as Parkinson’s is, the article sounds more like a press release for experimental drugs.  Too bad the author didn’t do a review of published articles in the animal models that indicate the role of resolvins in the treatment of Parkinson’s (Tian et al Biochem Biophys Res Commun 460:799 (2015)) or the role of preventing long-term omega-3 deficiencies (Cardoso et al Biochim Biophys Acta 1840:1902 (2014) in the prevention of Parkinson’s.  Taking high-dose fish oil seems a lot safer than being a human guinea pig for the biotechnology industry.
