The rising status of super fruits and super seeds

Although there is no universal standard definition of a super seed or superfruit, they are often described as providing a number of nutrients and possessing a nutritional halo with their reported health benefits that go beyond their nutritional profiles.

“Super fruits and seeds” are simply those rich in polyphenols. Cocoa beans are the richest source of polyphenols. Unfortunately, the extracted cocoa powder is rich in cadmium, which remains when you make dark chocolate candy. That’s why a number of manufacturers are being sued in California because the levels of cadmium in their products exceed the toxicity standards for cadmium set by the state.
