It’s Time To Get Over Our Fear Of Dietary Fat

When it comes to dietary fat, what matters most is the type of fat you eat. Contrary to past advice to eat a low-fat diet - which unfortunately contributed to overconsumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates - newer research suggests that certain types of fat are beneficial and necessary for health.

I hate to break the bad news, but the only way to lose excess body fat is by eating less calories. The secret is never to be hungry or tired. It’s called calorie restriction and it always works.  A high-fat diet (especially one that contains palmitic acid) will cause inflammation in the hypothalamus that eventually leads to increased hunger by disrupting satiety signals from the gut and the blood. The time to start adding more fat back to your diet is when you can begin to see your abdominal muscles. Until that time try to balance the protein to glycemic load at each meal so you are not hungry or tired for the next five hours.
