Small muscles

Last Updated Sep 2007

Q: I had a nerve test yesterday, and my doctor said I have abnormally small muscles in my legs and arms and has referred me to a rheumatologist. What does this mean?

A: The best advice for building the size of those muscles and hence their strength for supporting movement is consistent weight training coupled with adequate levels of protein to support new muscle growth.
