triglicerides

Last Updated Sep 2007

Q: My triglycerides are too high. Please advise me how to correct. Fish oil?

A: Triglyceride levels above 150mg. are considered one of the risk factors of metabolic syndrome, a group of factors that increase the risk of heart disease and other chronic conditions. While it's important to monitor cholesterol levels, it's also interesting to note that 50 percent of individuals who have heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels. Protecting yourself from heart disease entails more that just lowering cholesterol levels. Reducing silent inflammation and insulin levels are necessary. To reduce insulin levels and silent inflammation follow the Zone (http://drsears.com/gettingstartedinthezone.page) and supplement with 5 grams of EicoRx. These two suggestions should bring your triglyceride levels down dramatically. Always consult with your physician.
