Q: My son has the challenge of Asperger syndrome. I want to help him be the best he can be. What guidance do you have for the proper dosage of fish oil? Is there anything else that would help him? He is not on any meds. He is almost 9 years old and weighs 90 pounds. Thank you for any insight you can give!
A: Asperger patients have low levels of EPA and DHA in the blood. I would recommend at least 10 grams per day of EPA and DHA using ultra-refined EPA/DHA concentrates. I would also strongly recommend the Zone Diet to help stabilize blood sugar levels.
