PCOS sufferer finds relief in the Zone

Last Updated May 2008

I have had polycystic ovarian syndrome for about 10 years and had developed insulin resistance from it. After gaining 40 pounds in the peak of the symptoms, I tried everything to lose the weight. I ran three miles a day, six times a week; nothing happened. I did Weight Watchers; nothing happened. I did yoga, Pilates and daily lunches at Subway. You name it; I tried it. Nothing worked. Not even a pound came off.

Finally, I went online and searched for the best diets for people with PCOS, and there was the Zone! And that was the day that changed my life. Finally, something that made sense! I looked at the menus that I found right online and realized this was going to be easier than anything else I've tried.

And of course it was. When I started the Zone, I said I would "reward myself" each week with a cheat meal from Outback, including my favorite cheat food, which was cheese fries. The first week came and went, three pounds had fallen off and I had no interest in cheese fries! I chose a balanced meal with asparagus instead! I felt like I had finally learned how to eat. Since day one1 I've been in the Zone and keep on reaching my goal weights one by one.

Thank you for what you have done for me. It was the life change I needed!!
