Interaction of omega-3 and menopause treatment

Last Updated Jun 2008

Q: Is there a risk to use the omega-3 with hormone treatment for a woman in menopause? If I stop the treatment, will the effects of menopause return(heat, tachycardia, etc)?

A: Research has shown that omega-3s have a synergistic effect with all medications. Everyone responds differently to diet, medications and omega-3 supplementation. Working with your physician, you have to find out what is best for you. Many have good results when they focus on the Zone diet and OmegaRx supplementation.  I have written about menopause in my books (“Anti-Aging Zone;” “OmegaRx Zone”) and on my Web site
