Dr. Sears,
Q: In your book “The Zone” you mention in the introduction that mice were fed a natural food that contained lipids (phospholipids) that cleaned out the clogged arteries in the mice. Exactly what was that food(s) that had this natural effect.
A: I referred to experiments in which the injections of natural isolated phospholipids have remarkable benefits in regressing preformed atherosclerotic lesions. Unfortunately, this does not apply to oral consumption of phospholipids. The best way to reverse heart disease is to lower the levels of inflammation in the heart muscle cells. This can only be achieved by an anti-inflammatory diet.
