Willard H. is still going strong

God Bless Dr. Barry Sears. My cancer has not returned.
I first talked with Dr. Sears on the phone about November or December 1994. This
was before he wrote his first book. I forget how I learned of him, or who directed
me to him.
Anyway, I had prostate cancer surgery at Mayo clinic Sept. 1, l994. I had my
prostate removed and an orchiectomy. I had two lymph nodes involved, and they were
cut off. I was classified D1, Gleason 9. A very aggressive cancer.
Gleason only goes as high as 10. My surgeon said he got it all, which was little
relief. After cancer is in your lymph nodes, you are usually done.
I have a twin brother who had prostate cancer 2 years before me. I told all of
this to Mayo clinic, and being a 25-year patient of theirs felt safe. But they
missed me, and the cancer was about ready to go into my bones, which is the last
stage.
Enter Dr. Sears. I called him, told him my situation. He sent me some sheets on
how to prepare the Zone diets, and my wife and I got started.
I lost 20 pounds, my cholesterol went from 210 to 150, I was feeling great.
I now go to Mayo Clinic every 6 months for a check-up. I just returned, and my PSA
is still undetectable -- no evidence of cancer.
I have broken all of the statistics. I am on medications, Flutamide and Proscar,
to keep the cancer under control. But the best "medicine" that I have found, which
I give the most credit to is The Zone.
Thank God for Dr. Barry Sears.
P. S. If you care to, you may read of an earlier report on me that Dr. Sears put
in his book "Mastering The Zone", on Page 299. Yes, this is the same Willard H.,
and I am still alive.
