OmegaRx versus EicoRx

Last Updated Aug 2007

Q: I have just changed over to the EicoRx from the OmegaRx. My last AA/EPA on eight capsules of the OmegaRx was 2.14, but with a low GLA faction, 0.05, DGLA of 1.71. I am wondering if I should stay on eight capsules (5 gms) a day on this formula, or increase or decrease the number of capsules taken daily.

Marilyn, RN, BSN

A: Dear Marilyn,

You should keep the EPA and DHA levels constant as that will continue to reduce the pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, but the extra GLA and toasted sesame oil extract will increase the body's innate anti-inflammatory actions. In other words, you will get increased anti-aging benefits in addition to the reduction of silent inflammation.
