Q: I have a 9-year-old son with ADD who is having difficulty in school and mildly at home. I read that you are recommending omega-3 oil DHA and EPA (10-15g). I am unsure what pills to buy for him and how many pills to give him exactly. It is a little confusing because EPA and DHA and fish oil amounts are all different. How many pills will be equivalent to 10-15 g /daily and is this safe?
A: You would need about 45 typical fish oil capsules. Obviously, no one is going to take that amount of capsules. In our study, we used liquid ultra-refined fish oil mixed with polyphenols. Compliance was very good as were the results.
