Inflamed gall bladder

Last Updated Sep 2008

Q: My 16-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with inflammation of the gall bladder. I was wondering what products would benefit her with this illness.

Thank you, Sandy

Dear Sandy,

A: Drugs used to treat inflammation work downstream by inhibiting the formation of eicosanoids derived from arachidonic acid. The combination of a strict Zone Diet and high-dose fish oil will decrease arachidonic acid, thus improving the outcome of the drugs.
