Insulin and Leptin Resistance

Hormones such as insulin and leptin signal their responsive cells through receptors in the surface in their target cells.  If the message is not successfully transferred to the interior of the target cell, this is called hormone resistance.  Insulin and leptin resistance are the primary drivers of excess body fat, early development of chronic diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer’s, and acceleration of the aging process.  Insulin and leptin resistance are primarily caused by diet-induced inflammation.
