The two key nutrients in first 1000 days is fermentable fiber for gut health and omega-3 fatty acids for the brain and also to make the necessary gut-brain connections.  If these connections are not correctly established, the child will be in a lifetime of metabolic problems that lead to number of chronic conditions including ADHD and autistic spectrum disorder as well as obesity.
