Brain Injury Awareness Improving, Richter Says

Mike Richter's Hall of Fame career as goalie for the Rangers officially ended in 2003. He was inadvertently kneed in the head by an opposing forward nearly a year before that and never played again. The concussion came months after a rising slap shot hit Richter in the face mask and fractured his skull.

One of the problems of head injuries is knowing when the brain has sufficiently healed.  A potentially precise approach is to continually reduce the AA/EPA ratio to 1.5 to 3 with high-dose fish oil and then declare the person recovered when there is no subjective indications of a concussion injury for at least two weeks after reaching the necessary goal AA/EPA ratio.
