The nutrient-rich diet rich in fruits and vegetables is also rich in polyphenols and fermentable fiber.  Combine that with fish oil and adequate amounts of low-fat protein, you have the Zone Diet.  However, it is a reach to say you can “reverse” any chronic disease.  It is better to say that you simply manage it better.
