Smoking May Lead To Heart Failure By Thickening Heart Wall

Smoking causes inflammation.  If that inflammation is not resolved with adequate intakes of omega-3 fatty acids, the body reverts to Plan B and covers the inflammation with scar tissue.  That is what gives rise to a thickened artery and eventually heart failure.
